As part of their new-build project, a couple has created an exclusive wellness area in their home. At its heart is the elegant KLAFS SHAPE sauna, which, true to its name, impresses with its exquisite form.
When only the highest of standards will do
This project was a particularly rewarding commission for Christian Tillmanns, specialist consultant at KLAFS. The couple work in yacht sales and run their own business, so they’re accustomed to the highest standards – and for them, a sauna was non-negotiable,” he explains.
The clients discovered KLAFS through other private reference projects.
“They were in the midst of building their home and saw it as the perfect opportunity to create their own sauna,” says Tillmanns.
Design, glass and atmosphere: tailor-made planning
Thanks to the continuous natural stone flooring and striking corner glass frontage, the sauna blends effortlessly with its surroundings.
There were no major challenges during the planning stage, and installation was straightforward.
“The clients wanted clean lines, plenty of glass and atmospheric lighting,” explains Christian Tillmanns. “I then worked closely with the builders to make the right recommendations.”
The SHAPE sauna model was the perfect fit. Combining a sleek, contemporary design with exceptional comfort, it features distinctive corner glazing that offers panoramic views of the wellness area – complete with relaxation zone and whirlpool – as well as the garden and terrace.
With its large glass front and individual lighting, the SHAPE sauna is a real eye-catcher.

The BONATHERM VS under-bench heating system ensures even heat distribution and a wonderfully comfortable sauna climate, while also freeing up valuable space.

Thanks to the meticulous planning, the whirlpool, lounge area, and, above all, the sauna combine to create a health-promoting, first-class wellness area. Here, the owners can feel like they're on one of the yachts they work with professionally.
